Multiple Families Displaced Following House Fire in Merrill
MERRILL – Saturday evening August 3rd, the Merrill Fire Department was dispatched for smoke coming from a home on Genesee Street in the City of Merrill. Firefighters were met with significant fire and smoke coming from the home. With the assistance of several area fire departments, crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, preventing damage to surrounding homes. Three individuals were evaluated for smoke inhalation, two were transported to Aspirus Merrill Hospital. No one can re-enter the home due to damage, displacing the occupants of both apartments. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
